Hendre goes Green

Hendre Limited, the parent organisation of the Hendre Group, has completed the installation of a 40kW array of photovoltaic (PV) panels to provide solar electricity for its Head Office at Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff.

The Hendre Group, is committed to reducing carbon emissions in its activities and is using renewable energy to meet its commitment to environmental sustainability.  The PV panels work by harnessing solar power which is a renewable resource that reduces reliance on burning fossil fuels to create power, helping to safeguard the environment.

The installation will ensure that Hendre Group members and commercial tenants of its Head Office will benefit from reduced running costs by fully utilising the electricity generated from the panels.

Matthew Davies, Hendre Limited's Director of Development Services, commented:

"We are very excited to have worked with Pure Wafer Limited in undertaking the installation of PV's at our offices in Cardiff, demonstrating the on-going commitment Hendre Group has in meeting our obligations to act sustainably in all facets of our business, thereby preserving the environment for subsequent generations.

The use of renewable energy will help us in reducing carbon emissions through our operations and will have the added benefit of securing our future energy costs against price increases. When added to the development of properties which exceed minimum environmental standards by attaining Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM Very Good and Excellent and the delivery of some of the first Passivhaus certified properties to be occupied in our sector, the Hendre Group can be proud of its achievements."
