Hafod Housing launches new Property Maintenance Service

On the 2nd November 2009 Hafod Housing Association were pleased to launch their new in house property maintenance service - Hafod Property Services.

With more than 3,500 homes in management across the Bridgend, Merthyr, Cardiff, Newport, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taff areas Hafod will continue invest over 4 million pounds each year in maintaining tenant's homes.

The new service will use approximately 20% of Hafod's overall annual maintenance budget initially, with the intention of the service growing over the next few years.

Alan Morgan, Managing Director said: "By bringing our property maintenance services in house, we are helping ensure there is a tighter control over our finances, and most importantly ensuring higher quality services are provided to our tenants. Having our own staff on site will not only increase the association profile, but provide us with the opportunity to develop our services on-site working with our tenants".
This new service has created 20 permanent positions and demonstrates our commitment to the South Wales market place.

Alan continued: "We are also excited by the possibility of the new service tackling local unemployment, by providing targeted training and employment opportunities to the local community".

The service will also be made available across the Hendre Group so all companies within the group are able to make use of this new service.
